CM Arvind Kejriwal stated; Each school in Delhi will remain shut till November 5 as atmospheric pollution extends to rise
Whole schools in the national metropolis will continue shut till November 5 (Tuesday) among increasing pollution in the province, tweeted Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Friday.
The rising pollution in Delhi, the administration has adopted the decision that all schools will continue closed till November 5, Mr. Kejriwal told.
Besides Air Quality Index (AQI) invading the perilous level in Delhi, the contamination control body on Friday announced a public health crisis in Delhi-NCR and halted construction work, breaking of firecrackers.
Earlier in the day, Kejriwal along with Deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia distributed anti-pollution masks to school students. Kejriwal also said that the city has turned into a gas chamber.
The N95 mask, spread by the Delhi authority to the school learners coats the nose & mouth and filters up to 95% of the pollutants.
“The present air quality situation in Delhi is a cause of concern for all. To ensure that students studying in schools of Delhi are not adversely affected due to the current air quality, all the heads of government, government-aided and unaided recognised schools under Directorate of Education are hereby directed to sensitise the parents of the students about the worrisome air quality situation prevailing in and across Delhi and moreover appeal them to restrain their kids from undertaking outdoor activities till severe pollution condition persists,” read the announcement by the Directorate of Education.
