Cloth masks are useless against Omicron : Experts
“Cloth masks are not going to cut it with Omicron,” says Linsey Marr, a researcher at Virginia Tech who studies how viruses transmit in the air.
“They can be really good or really terrible,” depending on what fabric is used, said Trish Greenhalgh, professor of primary health care services at the University of Oxford.
Lab studies have shown that surgical masks, such as N95’s block around 95% of aerosol sized particles.
