China sends nuclear capable bomber jets to Taiwan
Taiwan said on it was on high alert over China’s military operation, after Beijing flew a record 56 fighter planes (34 J-16 fighters and 12 nuclear-capable H-6 bombers) towards the Taiwan in a third day of military coercion.
Taiwan has been reporting for more than a year that China’s air force has been repeatedly flying nearby. “We demand the Beijing authorities immediately stop its non-peaceful and irresponsible provocative actions,” MAC spokesman Chiu Chui-cheng said in a statement.
Over four dozen Chinese military aircraft flew into Taiwan’s air defence zone on Monday, in the latest round in a weekend of provocation that has seen nearly 150 sorties since Friday as state media issued threats to Australia.
