Canada – Shooting in Toronto leaves four injured and one dead
Police in the Peel region near Toronto said one person was killed and four were transported to hospitals in the Toronto area “in various conditions” after a shooting. Local reports said the shooting took place inside Chicken Land, a family-run take-out restaurant in a small strip mall
Staff from plaza businesses were led to waiting transit buses by police for shelter. Peel Police Const. Danny Martini said homicide detectives have taken carriage of the investigation, who are pulling surveillance video in order to piece together what happened. The victims, she said, were at different locations around the plaza when they were struck.
Police have yet to release information on suspects, Martini confirmed the shooter or shooters fled on foot, and as of yet no arrests have been made.
