Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, who are currently shooting for Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra in Varanasi, visited the famous Kashi Vishwanath temple to seek blessings. A picture of the two posing with fans outside the temple is being widely shared by fan clubs on Twitter and Instagram.

According to reports, Ranbir and Alia are shooting for a 20-day schedule at key locations in Varanasi, including the Ramnagar Fort and Chet Singh Fort.

In April, Ayan went to Varanasi for a recce and shared pictures from the city. “My attempt with the Brahmastra Trilogy to feature different places of India, and attempt to capture its infinite beauty,” he wrote.

The filmmaker had earlier called Ranbir and Alia’s love the “guiding light” of Brahmastra. Sharing a throwback picture of the couple at a VFX studio, he had written “Ranbir and Alia needed to work as one unit and that relationship was more important than their individual characters because at its heart, our movie is a love story. There has been a lot of love since then…”

Brahmastra also features Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, Nagarjuna Akkineni and Dimple Kapadia in key roles. It is being made as a fantasy trilogy.

Though the first installment of Brahmastra was scheduled to hit the theatres this Christmas, Ayan announced that the release date was pushed to next year because the “VFX teams need more time in order to get the VFX right, to get the sound and music right, to get the film right”.

“Our release date is now slated for summer 2020 but we will announce this once we are absolutely certain of the date. I believe that the extra time going into making the movie is essential to achieve the dream of Brahmastra, and I really hope we make up for the delay by giving our movie-loving country something they can really love and feel proud of,” the director said in a statement.
