Boris Johnson names his son after doctors who saved his life
UK PM Boris Johnson and his fiancée Carrie Symonds have named their baby boy Wilfred Lawrie Johnson.
Carrie also shared a picture of their newborn son on Instagram and revealed “Nicholas” in his name is after Dr. Nick Price and Dr. Nick Hart, the two doctors who saved Boris life last month after he was diagnosed with coronavirus. His name also pays a tribute to their grandfathers.
Symonds and Wilfred are understood to be back in Downing Street with Johnson. The news of their baby boy came just weeks after Johnson was discharged from intensive care where he had been receiving treatment for COVID-19. Symonds also experienced symptoms of the disease.
The medics team shared their warm congratulations, with the couple and said in a statement “We are honored and humbled to have been recognized in this way, and we give our thanks to the incredible team of professionals. We wish the family all the best”.
The Prime minister is expected to take a short period of paternity leave later in the year.
