Attempt to smuggle 6,488 bottles of liquor in Kuwait
Shuwaikh customs officers foiled an attempt to smuggle into Kuwait a total 6,458 imported liquor bottles including 539 “Red Label” whisky, worth more than half million dinars were discovered among wood planks inside a container that arrived at Shuwaikh Port from an Asian country in the name of a company.
According to report, customs officers at Shuwaikh Port suspected the container, which had wood planks.
They checked the container and found the “Red Label” liquor bottles between the wood sheets. High-ranking security and customs officers were present at the location.
Preliminary investigations led to the arrest of three Asian expatriates who have been referred for investigations.
