250 companies fined for visa trafficking
250 verdicts have been issued by the judiciary against fictitious companies for trading in visas during the first half of 2018, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Minister of State for Economic Affairs Hind Al-Sabeeh has revealed. These companies have been fined KD 2.13 million for this, she added.
Al-Sabeeh stressed that officials of the Public Authority for Manpower, especially the personnel in the Labor Inspection Department have been exerting strenuous efforts to pursue fictitious companies which have flooded the market with marginal workers and are a major cause for imbalance in the country’s population.
She pointed out the owners of these companies are obliged to cancel the residence permit of ‘employees’ under their sponsorship. These workers will be blacklisted, arrested and deported she said.
